Hello again everyone!

Starlight and I just got back from our trip up to AmandaMagick's.
We had a picture taken(by Amanda) and I was amazed at my wife.
As you know, Starlight has been working hard at losing weight.
She has had this problem all her life and now things are changing for her.
She took a very healthy step 15 months ago (this Wednesday to be exact) and it is really paying off. I think she posted that she has lost 90 pounds.
I am so proud of her that I thought you might want to see the difference so far.

Best of all...I love her..She is beautiful.

Obituary Of The Late Mr. Common Sense

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:


 Knowing when to come in out of the rain; Why the early bird gets the worm;
Life isn't always fair; and Maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn)
and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6 -year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer Tylenol, sun lotion or a Band-Aid to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

 Common Sense lost the will to live as churches became businesses;
and criminals received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself
from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.

 Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement. Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason.

He is survived by his 3 stepbrothers; I Know My Rights,
 Someone Else Is To Blame, and I'm A Victim.

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.

Isn't it the truth!!

Sunday Post

Hey everyone.
I am actually back here... Now now, DON'T Faint!

Sunday is here again. I got the work done outside so I have today off.
I don't plan on doing ANYTHING but relaxing.

I was tagged again by Samantha so here is a bit more about me.
Here goes..

4 jobs I have had:

1. Walking beans. (Know what that is??)

2. Grocery store jack of all trades.

3. Dishwasher for a wonderful family restaurant

4. Work in cabinet factory. Was a loader for a long time,
 now I am a trailer spotter.

I have only two towns.
Arthur, IL and Atwood, IL

( I didn't get around much huh..lol)

Quick Post...FINALLY!!

Hey everyone!
Yes, here I am...I am sorry for being gone so long.
My life consists of work and things to get done at home.
Things are slowing a bit so I finally got in here again.
Starlight and I have been working on the new look.

We are having people over tonight and I promised the missus
 I would help out so I better go for now.
 I will be here again a lot sooner than 80 plus days!
(Maybe 79?? LOL)

Remember the soldiers and their families this weekend. I know I will.

I was tagged by Sam...so here goes nothin!

Hi to everyone!
Sorry it's been too long since I've been here.
 I know that sounds like a broken record.
I wish I had more time but for now all I can do is try to get here as often as I can.

I was tagged by Sam to tell 10 weird or little known things about me. I know Starlight did this and now I guess it's my turn!

Here goes...

1. I am a big fan of Star Trek as you know,
 but I have a collection of pewter and gold models of the ships.
I have a few other things like ornaments and signed plates.
I don't consider myself a fanatic at all.
Just like the show and some of the things from it.

2. I  had my thumb torn off by my sister when I was about 4.
She was getting me out of playing in the cabinet
and shut the door on it.
Luckily it was successfully reattached! 

3. I have a 1966 Pontiac GTO in good condition. I love it.
It needs some work but it still looks good!

4. I had a hip replaced when I was 44. (47 now!)
    I found out it was a hereditary bone deformity.
  It sure looked bad on the x-rays.
 I will have to have the other one replaced..hopefully not too soon!

5. My mom's side of the family carries a genetic disease called Batten's disease.
I lost 2 Aunts and 1 Uncle to it.
I put it in the links so check it out if you want to learn about it.

6. I am an ice cream fanatic!
I HAVE to have it in the freezer at ALL TIMES!

7. I have 2  concrete geese that  I like to buy clothes for.
    I know...WEIRD!
  I get all kinds for all of the holidays or any other things I like.

8. I met Starlight through Matchmakers. Remember that??
    It was the early 90's answer to e-harmony.
    No computer or internet then!

9. I love (American!!) football. NFL all the way.
    Green Bay is my team!

10. I did have one paranormal experience with my family in Alaska. We were traveling back to Anchorage from Fairbanks and we stopped to eat. There was a truck parked there with a dog inside and a cat that looked EXACTLY like our cat Bunny we had a long time ago. I petted it and we took pictures of it and the dog. We got the pics back and only the truck and the dog were in it!!
Talk about strange!!

Okay! There ya go. I hope it wasn't too strange..lol

A Quick Hello

Hi everyone!

 I hope you had a good week. I'm sure glad it's over. Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my site. I hope you had a chance to read about Starlight's experience. It sure was startling to say the least. I'm glad she wasn't scared and that she is ok. She has always been sensitive to "their" presence.  On the bright side, she did make some delicious meals this week. So I decided to make potato soup last night which turned out good.  Tonite is PIZZA NITE!!!!   YUM!!

Hi everybody!

Thanks for stopping by.

I feel bad about not getting on here as often as I should but I am trying.
I don't want to give it up cause I really enjoy it. Starlight has unknowingly got me hooked on it.
 I hope everyone is doing well after the holidays. We are doing good.
 My mother is back home in Alaska after staying with us for awhile.
She enjoyed her stay and so did we. Maybe someday we will be able to visit her.
We have been there only once back in 1993.
 It's a beautiful " country" up there!

 Well, I got to go now.

 Please don't forget about me and I promise I will try to get on here more often to say hi!
